Welcome to the Clobber Creations YouTube Channel!

Many people find it hard to listen to themselves on a recording and I definitely fit into that category!  Unfortunately, I was never any good at acting at school, and even when I worked in a call centre, my supervisor used to mark my calls down for being flat!  It used to be awful listening back to calls with customers, but at least there were no graphics to accompany the awkward voice.

Youtube is a different matter!  While I’m intrigued by the background elements – setting up the microphone, lighting, focusing the camera… I try to avoid talking or appearing on it.  However, I’ve reached a point where a few busy projects have come to an end and my partner is nudging me in the direction of video.

So, to kick off this new venture properly, I have started with an introductory video, which meant facing my camera shy hang up!  Fortunately, to accompany the information, I was able to delete most of the video footage of me sitting between my machines and replace it with other videos or images.

I’m sure this is something that will come more naturally over time.  Even at the call centre, I managed to add a bit of life to my voice and sound happier after a few months!

I have a few older videos on YouTube from last year when I recorded a few of my machine embroidery makes and sped them up to create a time lapse.  I plan to make more of these over time.

Besides time lapse videos of current projects, I plan to produce some tutorials and may review sewing/knitting/crochet patterns too.  I plan to put up a new video fortnightly.

I’m looking forward to learning more about video editing and sharing the craft process in another format!
